“After reaching a plateau with my running I decided to join the Set Goals Not Limits running camp. Coach Butler provides a very concise training plan and offers valuable instruction based on years of proven experience. I achieved a new 5K PR after chasing it for 6 years.”
Coach Butler has helped my run out tremendously through the camp. He has helped me become more efficient and train at the right paces. I like the consistency of the workouts each season to see improvement.
“This camp has really improved my running. I like all of the speed training and the trail runs are fun too.”

“I love running camp and look forward to each one. I like the way it makes me feel, especially when I run a PR.”

“I joined Set Goals Not Limits because my kids wanted to. I never dreamed the speed workouts would improve my times so much. I’m back to running my times from high school! I also like the venue changes; sometimes we are on the track and other times at the park.”

I was a new runner and decided to participate in a local 5K. I was taken aback by the level of athleticism, and genuine compassion in the running community here in Brevard! I wanted to improve my running and have fun with my hobby. I signed up for SGNL summer camp & my life has been different ever since. The training, knowledge and the personal attention Coach gives campers is tremendous. Coach Butler has the innate ability to personalize running for each person based on their individuality and their needs/goals. He knows his campers: time/paces per distance and PRs for each distance, pitfalls, goals, etc. Not only will you succeed and achieve in SGNL camp, but exceed ANY expectation you have set for yourself. CAUTION as camp has side effects: hobbies turn into positive life styles, strong friendships and lasting relationships form.
I’ve been going to Set Goals Not Limits camp for 7 years and could never have achieved my personal running goals without it. Coach Butler has helped me achieve both short and long term goals as well as goals I didn’t even think were possible. I’ve met several runners here and each has their own goals and reasons to run. The environment is non competitive and based on each individual working on his or her own goals. I highly recommend this camp for anyone interested in running at any level.
Camp is really fun and Coach Butler is really motivating. He cares a lot about all the runners individually, and he even ran my first 5K with me when I was 9 years old. There are a lot of kids to run with and I made good friends there too.

I loved seeing where I was 3 years ago, and seeing how much I have improved since then. If I had known then, that in just a few months I would run a marathon in 3:59:12 because you said I could run a sub 4 hour marathon (my first two marathons were 4:31 and 5:11), qualify for Boston, run Boston and then marathons in London, Berlin, Chicago, and Tokyo, and make so many new friends… I would hardly be able to comprehend how much my life would change for the better and forever. Thanks as always for helping make all this possible for me!!!
Thank you for giving your time, effort and knowledge to all of the participants in Set Goals Not Limits Running Camp 2007. Every time I run, your voice is in the back of my head advising how to get the most from the training program and giving encouragement to get the most out of myself. I ran for over 20 years as a way to stay active and in good shape. Now I run because I enjoy it again and want to train smarter and get faster.
I did not reach my goal for camp this year (5K in under 21:00) but I improved on last year’s time and know how to work to reach the goal next year. Maybe I can catch Loran one day…
Thanks Doug, for the nice camp. For all the years I have been running, it is always
nice to hear new points of view, new ideas and opinions, and re-enforcement of the
things I have heard over the years. You did all three during the camp.
I will keep up with you between now, and the time I race the half in Utah. I surely will let you know the results when I return. 1:27:40 PR two years ago – hoping to be close…
Thanks again for all you do. You have made the world of difference in my running
times, my outlook on running possibilities, my attitude and my life in general. I thank God for you and your camp everyday. I know He sent me your way for a reason. I am sure it’s hard doing what you do and I am sure you get some flack. But once again thanks for making a difference.
